InsureTech is looking for a Weblogic Administrator to provide Weblogic application server administrator expertise and support for applications deployed on Weblogic server on Oracle Cloud. In this role, you will spend a significant amount of time doing operational work related to build and maintenance of non-production and production systems on Oracle Cloud.


When not working on operational issues, the Weblogic Administrator will be working on engineering tasks such as automation, scripting, and other efforts to improve operational excellence and environment stability. The ideal Weblogic Admin candidate has a deep understanding of Weblogic application server technologies as well as experience with Oracle Database administration.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Install, maintain and monitor applications on Weblogic application server, Installing and configuring Weblogic domains, Installing Weblogic patches, service packs etc.
  • You must be able to administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of applications deployed on Weblogic application server or JAVA Cloud Server on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Responsible for configuring of LDAP and Security realms.
  • Liaise with internal team(s) and other personnel to address Application/System related problem. Troubleshooting of JAR, EAR, WAR etc.
  • Provide (act as) 2nd and 3rd level escalation for internal Oracle Cloud team
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, performance tuning and work with developers to implement the fixes.
  • Write shell scripts to manage and monitor different levels of the server stack: process monitoring, memory monitoring, disk usage, uptime monitoring
  • Research and development of DevOps technologies for CI/CD process improvement
  • Provide advanced engineering support for complex application performance and infrastructure issues
  • Support and guide junior admins in the delivery of the target solutions
  • Provide an expert knowledge of the technical aspects of Weblogic application server.
  • Provide technical task estimates and contribute to infrastructure planning activities
  • Monitor technology upgrades, corrections, and new releases. Ensure that the most technically and functionally appropriate version is installed.


Required skills


· Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.

· Experience in Weblogic server administration or Oracle Fusion Middleware (11g/12c) administration experience

· Experience of Installation, upgrades, and patching via oPatch

· Experience with administration of Oracle database 12c or higher, including installation, backup and recovery, password changes, etc

· Comfortable administrating applications and software in Linux command-line environment

· Good understanding of managed servers/domains and NodeManager, connection pools, JMS modules, etc

· Working knowledge of building a high availability infrastructure

· Basic understanding of the java language – common class files, command line configuration options, ability to interpret Java errors in log files

· Knowledge of using container technologies (e.g. Docker) to package and deploy system components, Knowledge of DevOps is preferred

· Good level of proficiency in English (for business/professional verbal and written communications)


· Desirable – Weblogic Admin Certifications, Oracle DBA Certifications

· Preference will be given to candidates who are Weblogic Admin certified.
