This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Test Lead to work within a newly established, fast growing, tech loving and passionate team. Testing a variety of applications to ensure they meet high standards of quality, performance, and reliability. You will be expected to provide a framework of methodology to work across the full development lifecycle, and across all test services i.e. functional, integration, regression, automation, acceptance and non-functional testing (performance and security), drive refinement and implement best practices. Working across a geographically spread business and test teams you must have experience leading resources internally and externally and have demonstrated an ability to quickly align to business processes and objectives.
You will be responsible for carrying out Quality Planning, Execution / Quality Assurance Tasks and Reporting / monitoring of Quality Activities and existing Non-conformities
You should have a strong background in both hands-on testing and test management and experience working effectively with clients, development teams and business stakeholders to promptly understand detailed requirements to develop and document the appropriate test approach and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow testing methodologies; Agile (Scrum, BDD, TDD), V-Model
- Demonstrable experience at all stages of the testing lifecycle, including writing test strategies, plans, test status reports (with detailed test metrics/ stats) and test exit reports
- Leading a globally spread test team
- Proactively drive the development of effective test processes, procedures and best practices across technology platforms.
- Use QA methodology, QMS (Quality Management Systems), CI (Continuous Integration), automation tools /frameworks and testing tools (VSTS, JIRA, HP Quality Centre 10 and ALM)
- Lead functional and non-functional testing on web and desktop-based applications
- Design consistent Metrics and Databases to show performance of the Area
- Manage the assembly of test environments.
- Participate during the systems conception stage in the development of testing strategies.
- Participate in meetings with the Management and collaborate with the commercial area in technical presentations to potential clients.
Required Skills
- Proven experience leading a globally test team
- Knowledge of Software Engineering.
- Good understanding of all stages of the testing life cycle
- Knowledge of methodologies and quality models for the software industry.
- Systems Development Methodologies (agile, non-agile). Knowledge of Scrum / UML / TDD / IC
- Knowledge of Tools for the Execution and Monitoring of Testing.
- Knowledge of database query languages
- Strong organisational skills, managing multiple testing projects and resources simultaneously

- Knowledge, if applicable, of different Types of Testing (Volume, Smoke test, performance, functional, technical). Automation / Scripting.
- Experience in ISO 9000 quality standards, if you participate in Processes.
- Experience in implementing high productivity improvement processes.
- Knowledge of networks / communications, S.O, some programming language.
- ISTQB/ISEB Certified Tester Foundation Level
- Insurance domain knowledge
